A couple that I read recently and really liked were Season of the Witch by Natasha Mostert, an intriguing mystery/love story and The Stolen Child by Keith Donohue, "a bedtime story for adults" is what one reviewer wrote. It's foundation is fantasy, but set in our world. I could hardly put it down. It deals with some real and raw emotional issues. The Rule of Four is a good one written by a team of first time writers that stunned me with some of their profound prose. The writing was great, plot intriguing, and an romantic twist thrown in for good measure. The book that I have been calling my favorite for a while now is The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova. It was a bit love story, horror, and a lot of the DaVinci Code type historic research. Thanks for those suggestions, Brick!! They all look like something I would really like. After a quick search, I did find that two of them (The Stolen Child and The Historian) are available in audiobook format, so once I get my hands on them I'll be listening to them soon! I'll keep digging around for audiobooks of the other two - if they even exist; if not, I'll check out the books from the library. Thanks again!

Just finished (Blue Like Jazz ) Book by Donald Miller. I must say it has been very awakening. From my viewpoint it has made me realise, I have so much more to learn and don't really know nearly as much of Jesus as I thought I did. I mean, I know who he is and what he did for me on the cross but it is so easy to think that one is walking a pretty good path and is doing all right in the spiritual department and then you realise there is so much more that you have forgotten and you wonder how you could be so blind and unaware, so forgetful. There are some things I would disagree with but there is much that hits on things pretty well. It made me want to re-evaluating things about myself that I hadn't considered before. Always good. If you want to read a book that will challenge, often offend, and turn the way you view us humans, then this is worth reading.

I've read "Blue Like Jazz" as well.. Good book.
Another good one: "What was I thinking?" by Steve Brown (Things I've learned since I knew it all).
Quote from the book: "The people who shout the loudest are often those who are least sure about what they're saying."

Thanks Wings, will look out for that book
Red Moon Rising by Pete Greig and Dave Roberts. It is a read with many storys of how 24..7 prayer is redefining who God is to many people around the world. Though its pages are ways that God through the power of the Holy Spirit has made a prayer movement by bringing together key people who have had the guts to step out and put faith to the test. God leading them. This is a challenge. It’s a read as it stretches the typical idea of prayer and the workings the Holy Spirit. Boy do we need TRUE faith. And I need this challenge. Keep the titles rolling, Love reading.

I loved Blue Like Jazz. Donald Miller also wrote Searching for God Knows What, also a great book.
Velevet Elvis by Rob Bell.
I also enjoy Brian McLaren's books. A New Kind of Christian and The Secret Message of Jesus.
I haven't read it yet, but I've hear a few people say that Brad Jersak's Kissing the Leper is excellent.
Blessings, Linda
